Mrs. Nowzaradan

I love teaching Art and Visual Literacy to young adults. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work with such amazing students and staff at Lake Travis High School. This year will be my 11th year teaching high school art. I absolutely love it. I have previously taught Art I, Drawing II and AP Studio Art and currently teach Art 1 Fundamentals. I am very passionate about helping students learn to explore a variety of art mediums, techniques and the world around them.

I am originally from Houston and moved to Austin to explore the hill country and study visual art. I received my degree in Art at St. Edwards University in Austin with a focus on acrylic and oil painting. My inspiration is fueled by nature and geometric patterns found in nature, culture and my open water diving experiences. I enjoy drawing, painting and digital art, but I am mostly passionate about acrylic painting. Although I have a strong passion for realism I have an obsession with painting sunsets, underwater landscapes and painting from imagination. In the past few years I have been exploring abstract watercolor techniques and what can be created with mixed media using painted subjects, collage and photo transfer.
